Anyone know of a good place to get some antique lures appraised? I have recently acquired some that I feel based on my research to be fairly unique. I am curious about how valuable they may be before I remove the packaging and catch fish on them :chuckle:
What I have are crippled herring jigs made by Pete Rosko from back before Luhr Jensen purchased the rights to them. They are mint in the package. From my research I can hardly find any info on them or the company that made them (Green Point Lures).
These are in sizes 5-7.5 ounce, and some are advertised as glow in the dark.
These aren't anywhere online or on ebay. Either I have something special or junk. Whats your vote?

Photo and data would help. Year, etc.

I do collect antique and unusual lures and reels. My feeling on these lures are that they are not that valuable--say in the $6-10 range. Never know there could be someone out there that collects Crippled Herring lures and are in need of certain sizes or colors for their collection. I sold a Heddon Fire-tail Sonic that was valued at about $20 for $710 to a kid named The Sonic Kid. Two bidders on ebay had a bidding war and I was the winner!! Good luck on these lures--either fishing or selling.

As others have said you need to do some searching. I would look on ebay and then do searching on the lures names and size to see what comes up.
