Title: Striper fishing in KY
Post by: Machias on August 14, 2011, 12:21:30 PM
Went out at 0500 this morning on Cumberland Lake in KY for a little striper fishing.  Talk about muggy, but really nice on the water, the air temp was 70 and the water temp was 84 degrees. The stripers are deep and scattered, not in their usual packs.  Fishing was slow but still had a lot of fun, here's a few photos.

Well since I'm currently living in a hotel I gave my fish to the skipper.  He was quite please, says him and his wife eat alot of striper.

Awesome striper! im jealous, i miss fishing linesiders

strippers cook up amazing! in my oppinion they taste just like salmon, lingcod, and halibut... nice firm white meat ;)

ohhh wait... STRIPERS.... not strippers... well fish is fish ;) in all seriousness though... east coast delicasy

i used to fish stripers out of gloucester/cape ann, massachusettes, all the way up to rivermouths in new hampshire... they are still to this day one of my favorite fish to go after. the seccond most violent strike ive ever seen on a top water lure was by a striper, the first being a roosterfish in baja mexico...

awesome fish! having not seen pictures of any caught in many long years, that sure brings me back....
