i wanted to say thank you to everyone that gave me info on where to take my kids bear hunting. we went out Friday after noon didn't see any bears but saw several elk then camped up in the mountains and got up early Saturday morning saw several more elk, we sat and watched them for what seemed like forevery ( i still cant wipe the smile off my 10 y/o daughters face) after we left the elk we saw our first bear it was a long way off but we tried for a stalk any way i think we got with in 300 yards before we lost it. we went back to the truck and drove around for awhile and had lunch looking over a big clearing and mount rainier then drove around some more and just before dark we saw our second bear it was so hard to tell her no not to shoot it but I had to it might have been 50 lbs but both my kids 12 y/o son, my daughter and i sat and watched it for about an hour and had a blast it was a very wonderful afternoon. the only problem we had is we found where someone had poached an elk sometime in the last few days and they left there knifes on the side of the road both of my kids said it made them sick to see people taking an animal out of season so i guess I'm doing something right. but thank you to everyone. we will be back out next weekend hopefully i will have a story and pics where one of them has taking a bear but for me i couldn't have a better story then i do for this weekend

Did you notify the game department about the elk?
