Title: Scouting for Fall Season
Post by: Dean44 on June 22, 2008, 05:56:54 AM
With the Spring season coming to a close, I decided to do a little scouting for bear close to home in the Kalama area, and combine it with a family hike. The first pic is right where an old brushy cut with about 15' reprod meets tall timber with good visibility.

The second pic was off of an abandoned quad trail deep in tall timber about 3/4 mile from the first pic. I believe this is from bear but I am not sure on this one. It was really soft and smooth with no solids. There were no deer or elk tracks around it and there was heavy brush overhead.

The 3rd pic is an overview of the area. Looking from the tall timber across the reprod toward a newer cut.

Great pics.

That second one looks like deer to me. You know, after they eat alot of new growth.
