I know that daypacks have been talked about a lot and have read through every thread. How well do the Badlands 2200 or the Eberlestock X2 fit a big guy. I'm 5'7" and 225 lbs and really don't want to spend that kind of money to find out it only fits skinny guys. What experiences/recommendations do you big guys have?

Last time I had my 2200 on it worked fine, I was 6' and 265ish. Next time I have it on I will be 6' and 225! :IBCOOL:

Good work man...I used to be 330 lbs :yike:

You said fat guy, not skinny guy. :chuckle: Takes one to know one. :chuckle: It should fit just fine and great job on shedding the extra stuff.

I don't have either one of the packs you mentioned, but do have the Cabela's elite scout pack with hydration bladder. It's held up very well for me the last 7-8 years, including packing out head and horns, not comfy for that duty, but it's done it. I'm 6'2" and 280.

I think that packs are made more for heavy guys versus slender guys. I can't seem to find one that snugs up tight. I am 6'2" 180ish pounds :bash:

I have an Eberlestock J104 and had an X-1. I don't think I'm a fat guy but the waist strap on both had lots of extra strap left and it's plenty comfortable. I'm 6'3" and 225 or so. Definitely not a skinny guy. Go someplace that sells them and try them on. Sportsmans Warehouse or Wholesale Sports or Cabelas has them all I believe.

I would suggest looking at Cabelas. Seems that most of the stuff I see there is 3XL to 5XL.

I am 5'8 and 240 and last year still 5'8 but 270 and the Eberlestock J107 Dragonfly fits wonderfully with lots of room to spare in the waste belt and shoulder straps. This is more than a daypack, but that is the way I use it.

:yeah: Especially Badlands stuff. I'm 5'10" around 150 lbs (32"waist) and I always have badlands stuff cinched up as tight as it will go. Still can't get it as snug as I like unless I have several layers on.

My hunting partner is 5-9 and about 240, so a similar size as you BiggMayn. His X2 fits him just fine with room to spare.

Cool. I think I'm going to go with the X2. Thanks for the input guys
