Took the wife out for one last scouting trip. We saw a full sized puckup with a smaller sized chest freezer in the back. Now if you add a 1000 watt or a 2000 watt honda generator you could take your time getting your boned out meat home.
We saw that same freezer at Costco for 179 dollars. I thought it was just a great idea.

I've been wanting to ask a RV shop if they can hook up a chest freezer with a 3-way(electric, 12-volt, propane) compressor to use as a cooler for those times when the hunting is good & want to stay & try to fill other tags without rushing home to the meat locker

Do you use a generator? or do you have another setup?

I've been hauling mine around for a few years now. Have a carry rack on the back of my RV and have it a Honda 2000 and 6 gallon fuel tank all on the rack. I go out of state every year.
Bone everything out and get everything cleaned up. Put the meat in salmon bags of the proper size for the freezer, tie them up so you have a handle to pull them out after getting back home. Thaw the bags of meat out, cut, grind, wrap and all done.
Has made the meat issues of out of state hunting a lot easier. I'm gone for 4 -5 weeks. I can get a couple of mule deer into the freezer. So if there are more animals I will then put the frozen blocks of meat into coolers and keep them iced. Come mid to later November those bags in the coolers don't thaw. I you see them starting to thaw, just rotate the bags back into the freezer.

We not only bring a freezer, but also all of our meat processing stuff to camp. Last year we butchered two deer and a bear in camp all in one day. Ground most of it to burger except the backstraps and a few roast. Worked awesome.

Took a freezer and generator out of state last year, plan on the same this year. Worked great.

I don't like to freeze and then thaw and re-freeze except for sausage. I would rather have a refrigerator. I tried it one year and even on the lowest setting, everything was frozen. I hate to process frozen meet cause it's to cold on my hands. It sure does help eliminate the worry in warm weather though.
