I could have sworn that a week ago, the cost of a second deer license (I was selected) was $24. Now I go to buy it and it says $66. Anybody know what's going on??

The fees for almost all licenses/tags went up as of September 1st. There was a topic posted on here last week warning people to purchase their 2nd deer tags before September 1st. I guess you missed it. Are you still going to buy your 2nd tag?

LOL. I probably did Sept 2nd. 175% increase is certainly justified. I mean....it's only during a massive recession. And, we wouldn't want to take away state revenues from paying for more freebies to people who don't pay any taxes. :bash:

I'm sorry. I'm just getting warmed up.
In 2004, I hunted pigs in CA. I think tags were $5/each. They were going up to $50. But, the State of Kalifornia didn't believe the laws of supply & demand apply to them. Now, they're screaming bloody murder because the pigs own large northern portions of the state. So, they do gazillions worth of damage and no NR's want to pay ridiculous fees. What they should have done is given away tags and paid a bounty.
For WA State 2nd deer permits, many are in Deer Areas that have high costs to crops and car/deer accidents. So, we should raise rates and discourage hunting. :bdid:

Sounds just like their politicians as well. :chuckle:

I also think second deer tag increase is unjustified. Many of the antlerless hunts were put into the second deer category. So by increasing a tag from $26 to $66 this "science based" management decision is supposed to manage antlerless populations How? Pathetic. >:(
