Title: Archery Desert Unit?
Post by: hatchinet on September 08, 2011, 06:29:03 AM
Anyone draw the Desert unit for archery since they made it a later season hunt? Looking for suggestions on specific areas where I may start looking for a wall hanger if anyone's willing to give up that sort of info.

I am familiar with the unit from duck hunting.  I killed an anterless tag out there with a rifle.

For archery, i'd go to the N. Potholes and scount the willow "forest" up there.  Some of those trees are big enough to hang a stand.  The deer love those spots.  Also, south part of the Reservoir near the state park (off limits to hunting) is an area of high sage....they really like the high sage ; hint hint.   :IBCOOL:

Good luck!  Hope you get one
