I can't believe this. Went out this morning to the only spot that i can think of that isn't closed because of fire danger. Long story short. Got on a small herd. There were 4 bulls (that i saw) and a bunch of cows. I was able to get into them and had a 3 point bull at 25 yards, there was some brush but he gave me a shot. I drew my bow when he was broadside as i was putting my pins on his vitals, i couldn't see my pins. There was a huge garden spider (it had a stomach the size of a grape) that made a home on my pins as i was making my way threw the brush. The bull moved behind some cover. I got rid of the spider, but no more shot oportinities. Can't believe a freakin spider just cost me a couple hundred pounds of meat. Oh well, that hunting. It was a awesome exsperiance seeing that many bulls and cows together talkin' and bugling all together. To me it seems like the heat of the rut is just a couple days away. They were resonding to calls, but not coming into them. There is a Stud of a bull in the herd, may be ill get a shot on him tomarrow morning.

That sucks !!!!!!! You never know what is going to happen during the shot, there is so much you can't practice or plan on. Hope you get another chance. Mike

I'd have made sure that spider got the sharp end of my arrow! Had that problem with snow before, but never heard of a spider. Might have to think about buying a lotto ticket with that luck.

Karma or fate.....not sure about that one. :chuckle:

I've had a shot ruined by snow packed in my pins but never a critter. That sucks! It must mean you are destined for a bigger bull.

I hope so, I get a pretty tough time for passing on animals because the shots are perfect. A couple years ago my buddy shot a bull with a 7mm at 80 yards and we never found him. I would much rather get close and get action then wonding a animal and never finding it.
