Went to Western Montana elk hunting for the opener and they werent in the rut yet. Nothing was talking during daylight hours and it was still hot. Thinking about going back since it is starting to cool off into the 60's and 70's has anyone heard of any elk reports in Montana or have any ideas?

They were buglin pretty good last weekend in the little belts but what would shut down soon after light due to the heat. Im up by missoula right now and we saw one herd today that didn't have any bulls in with it besides spikes and not a peep. It was 35 degrees in drummond this morning though so that was a nice change instead of the typical 90 degrees.
