I guess we had the rule if it was more than a mile from the boat or plane, we'd find another... That is a haul for sure, again, I bow in your presense, cause I know how much work that was........ :yike: Ouch--- sore back, legs, and brain for a while... Just thinking of it sends quivers down to my pre-aching feet....

Post by: boneaddict on July 03, 2008, 09:40:33 PM: Thanks cohoho, I ahve sort of made a pact with myself to shoot it next to a forklift if the occasion ever presents itself again. Even when Idabooners ran across teh road and died 20 feet down the embankment it was a pain in the ass to get to the truck. We used block and tackle and ended up uprooting the tree that we were anchored too. Also lifted the back end of my truck off the ground.

Post by: cohoho on July 03, 2008, 10:56:34 PM: Our worst was probably when we had to hurry so fast because the tide was dropping and daylight leaving as we were finishing taking it apart, about twenty minutes from time the first knife went to it, it was in tarp on the bottom of the boat and just kept throwing a leg here and there to get it into the boat, then have to push the boat out a bit more each 100 yard trip. Finally had to wrap the rest of the carcass (Mind you just the rib cage, some neck meat, tenderlions and back straps), in a tarp and drag it to the water edge, two guys lifting and pushing while the kid held the boat from going back wards with an oar wedged behind the boat. Three attempts and finally got the carcass to flip right in. We were all soaked head to toe with water and blood, laughing our butts off, wish some one videoed it cause I'd have won money somewhere for it... thanks goodness boat ride was short, but using a flashlight to search the banks for the trip back.. Oh the fun of Moose Hunting for sure......
