I wanna go but I fear the price

Yes the price would be extremely high for you, since you don't have a tag for that area!
Wait till they add on the additional "trophy" charge to the basic poaching charges. (an extra $6000 for a 5 point or better elk) :o

Where were these monster bulls for my archery bull tag!! :bash: Damn it!!!! >:(

Being Stalked by me :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: I seen plenty of bulls just could not close the deal :bash:
And to rub salt inthe wound, I have received calls from a friend that lives over there, twice this week to brag about the elk that are showing up in the Obserbatory unit the day after the hunt was over. he even called to tell me about a monster 6point that was in the Wenas feed station, just hanging out :bash:

never been a big believer in extra trophy fees
-
what extra trophy fee? Ours if optional. My partner almost got ran over by a big 6pt. while pulling a trail camera in the observatory unit tonight, and I called in a huge bull in the peaches unit tonight, we just need sombody to come whack these guys...
-
I did not see where the trophy fee was optional on rugged class website under trophy elk rates
-
too bad WA state doesn't allow outfitter trophy bull tags...I'd book you this weekend!
but your fine reputation outfit probably wouldn't have a tag if such were available...these you would've already booked/sold.
but alas, I'm stuck with general modern spike only season.
-
The way ours works is if you only want a bigger bull (I think it's 325 or bigger) and would not consider anything smaller, then there is the fee. If you don't choose to go for the fee and you happen to kill a bigger bull like a 350, then good for you, no fee. It's for tageting ONLY the bigger bulls, we'd walk away from anything 325 or smaller.
-
I wish we could get outfitter tags too!
-
I believe the trophy fee refered to was for poaching - the regular poaching charge for some one shooting a bull with out the proper permit, then adding the trophy poaching charge ontop of that for a bull better than a 5x.
-
royalbull was referring to this:
- TROPY ELK HUNT OCT 1-10 rifle or muzzle load
- Fully guided with all meals and lodging at Squaw Rock Resort with four by four or ATV travel. Up to 325 B&C Green Score: $3,495 per person (Add $1,500 for trophy fee for 325 and above)
~
But yes, in my post I was referring to the fine for poaching a "trophy" elk.
