My neighbor said he hiked to Packwood lake Fri, I guess it is the same lake you are talking about. Is it like a 4.5 mile hike ? He hiked up at mid day, caught one 15" trout in a couple of hours. Just fished with small lures on a spinner. Said he had a great time. I've never been. He did say something about lure only, no bait ETC. I have not looked it up in the regs.

ya i've been there alot, sucks for fishing. they are very strick for gear on that lake for some reason and i still havnt been able to get a fish outa there. i heard from some old guy i met up there that supposed to be some kokanee in there too :dunno:. its a nice lil hike, ive also road mountain bikes in there, you can also ride motorized vehicles in there as well. i'm pretty sure its 4miles, good place to bring a family, lots of nice camp spots and stuff and almost completly flat all the way. if you go up there head up to lost lake, just 3 1/2 miles if you continue up the trail. thats a real pretty place and is loaded with fish
