Post by: PA BEN on September 25, 2011, 09:55:50 AM
Last year the Game Dept. met and said the Elwha will be closed for the next 5 years because of the Dam removal. But the reg.s say it's open this year? Anybody hear other wise?

I was under the impression that the Elwha and all tributaries (excluding Lake Sutherland) were closed for 5 years.  The park has shut down fishing inside its borders.
There are a few FW meeting papers I found online that say the closure is March 1, 2012--but nothing official.  But I don't know what is right anymore.  The rangers say the whole river is closed and there was a newspaper article saying it was already closed.
