Title: Help?
Post by: mr.ktm95 on September 25, 2011, 10:11:26 AM
Hello I have a remington model 31 20 guage, and it has a fixed full choke in it. And I was wondering if it would be okay for slugs  :dunno:  I have never shot a slug so I am clueless on that subject. Any info help thanks.

I don't believe you are supposed shoot any slugs out of a shotgun with a full choke whether it is a fixed full choke in the barrel or the interchangeable chokes.

Back when I was deer hunting in NY, shotgun only, the manufactures stated on the box that the slug could be shot Though any choke, but a open choke provided better performance. I'm guessing that things have not changed. I'm sure the manufacture provides info on this.

i have shot them through my modified choke but couldnt honestly tell you if you could shoot it through a full.  seems like the plastic piece the round sits in would come off too fast any youd lose accuracy but im not sure...  call a gunsmith :twocents:
