Title: T/C Venture
Post by: NateR on September 28, 2011, 01:48:04 PM
Hey guys and gals...been reading for about a year now, not much of a poster.

I'm ready to upgrade the old Savage 110 this week and have been leaning heavily towards the T/C Venture (30-06). I've been doing the homework for a few months now and haven't read a bad thing about the gun. The gun itself feels pretty nice and well built (for the price). Anyone have exp with this gun? Your thoughts?

Thanks,

Nate

They are very good rifles. Especially for their price. I have shot my friends venture in 30-06 quite a bit and its sub moa all day with 150gr federal fusions.

I did a lot of reading on the Venture myself and this is the first year they are making them with their weather shield.  I ordered one from Sportsco in Fife, best price I could find.  The ones with the weather shield coating on them are in high demand so they are on back order.  I ordered a .300 win mag for my son and they said it would take about 2 months to get it in.  So it should be here any day.

If it shoots like the Icon you'll be very happy.

I picked up a T/C Venture (30-06) last year for deer season and I have been very impressed with it so far. Shooting Remington Core-Lockt ammo it will shoot more than acceptable groups at 100 yds, and I have practiced with it out to 500 yds. The price is good for the quality of gun you get. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a new rifle.

My son has an Icon in .243 and it is a sweet shooting gun.

Thanks for the input everyone...pulled the trigger and bought one today (ha...ha...). With a little fine tuning at the range this week she'll be ready for the 15th! Thanks again!

I bought a venture in 308 and have called it good to go with 3/4" group at 100 yards.  I almost bought the Ruger gunsite...I'm so happy I did not...it was a 'piece O s'.

Curious are you allowed to shoot on 'Shomer Shabbat'  :chuckle:
