I think I'm going to go crow hunting a day or two this fall.  Back when I took the two guys from Europe out we had some crows off in the distance on a cow carcass.  I switched the FoxPro Scorpion over to crow party and they all came into shotgun range.  Would have been some fun shooting.

It is a lot of fun.  I saw some crows during season last year while out predator hunting and decided to get them to come in close with some crow fight sound.  I only had four shells for birds in case I saw a grouse or rabbit but I ended up getting two crows with the four shots.

Bringing more shells this year.

Headed out to where I took this video last year.  I dont have any decoys yet so I dont know how close I can get them to come in.

Perfect timing, just the other day I was out in the yard & heard a pfft, wap, & a weak screech. Neighbor musta popped 1. but within about 1 minute the whole area was full of squawking crows. I got out my air gun but none came close enough.

Air rifles are effective but are not legal for hunting crows.  Might be legal for killing in the act of depredation but I dont know.  Just a friendly heads up.

Well that was exciting.  I went out before light and got all set up.  Put the Spitfire in the brush and put the Mojo critter close by in the open.   Sat and waited until light.  The skies were empty.  Hmmm.  I usually see so many crows in this area.  Oh well might as well start up the "Crow Fight" sound on full blast.  Holy crap over a hundred crows circling above me in under a minute.  Bad news they are just out of range but are going nuts.  After about a minute one gets a little too close and BLAMO!  Falls out of the sky and hit the ground like an incoming missile.  The rest of the crows just go crazy but keep circling just out of range.  They eventually land in some very tall trees about a hundred yards away and just keep squawkin.  OH well guess that stand is done.  RAD!  Gotta go get me some decoys.

When setting up for crows I make sure to set up within shooting range of a tree or two so I can take out a few more. I also bring a .22 rimfire with my shotgun if the area is condusive to rimfire shooting.

Are crows considered game birds?

No actually they are classified as a "predatory bird".  Hmmm
