I thought it would be cool to keep a running tally of all(or as many as we can get anyway) the bulls killed by our members this year. There's one of these threads in the Deer Hunting forum and another in the Other Big Game forum as well.
Thanks for sharing all the pics and keep em coming!

Two pics of the 8x8 killed by Dan Agnew on the San Carlos Indian Reservation with tribal guide Homer Stevens on 9/15 after 14 days of hunting. The bull green scores 416 5/8 gross and 410 3/8 net.
-
Now thats a bull, love the charecter of the back end!!!
-
Wow now thats a monster
-
My last day, last minute, Oregon Bull. It was a tough season, but an awesome month of hunting. I learned alot and passed on a ton of bulls holding out for that monster. I passed on bulls much bigger than this one, and passed on this bull several times throughout the season. But he was the last bull to present himself in the last 20 minutes of my hunt.
-
My son's 2011 Mt Whittier m/l bull. VERY difficult hunt. 25 miles in and out, UP and DOWN. Biggest bull in the unit, one 300" bull was broken.
-
Wow!!! Legacy, you r definitely the real Chief Big Bull!!! That is a great animal, Congratulations Sir!!!
-
My archery 4pt
-
I was invited to hunt with a friend of mine in Montana and we drew tags together and started the long wait for the season to open. He had access to private land in the Deer Lodge area and it turned out to be great.
He got his 6X6 bull the morning of the second day and I got mine the last day morning of a five day hunt a 7X7 but he broke of his fifth, lost about 9 inches. I measured mine at 352 gross and 338 net, wish he had the other 9" and less deduction.
His first bull and first hunt, below is a pic with him and guide and mine is the second pic.
-
Okay, not a monster, but after waiting 7 years for a peaches tag, and having this guy run broadside by me at 100yds, opening morning, a mile from the truck, (that NEVER happens for me) I could not look a gift horse (elk) in the mouth and pass on a shooter and risk getting skunked. Beautiful dark color, candle flame tips, green scored 276 but still a nice animal.

Thats one knarly looking bull dude! Congrats
-
There have been so many huge, beautiful elk posted up this year, it blows me away! It was making me think there wouldn't be any big elk left for me by the time my Observatory any bull tag could be used. Glad I was wrong about that. I found a pretty decent bull that made it through the archery and muzzle loader seasons!

Thats one fine Bull, would you have any tips on where I should be looking. I am new to this area where we are going--the area is down around Winston creek, cowmen, Randell and around the toutle area...I grew up hunting the klickatat and white salmon, north to trout lake. All the good roads have been closed by dnr gated off and there aint no either sex units like there use to be, this is why we are headin towards a new are around the places i was talking about. I am staying at the st helens rv park across from the lake, any tips or directions would help,if not thanks . Feel free to stop by for a cold one and anyways,,,good luck to you all. I have a silver f250 4 door with a 28 ft mallard trailer
Congrats to all the hunters!

Congrats brushchimp! I have this bull on trailcam pics in early October.
-
Another pic of brishchimp's bull
-
Ok finally going to put mine up, snuck up to him to 18 yards, smelled him long before we seen him. put the arrow threw a small window between brush and trees! Threading the Needle for sure! He didnt go much more than a hundred yards, muzzy did the trick! The day before I got him we were in the same area and had a nice heavy 5x5 screaming for hours at us, I got a shot and misjudged yardage :bash: :bash: called him back and i backed out calling/scrapeing and let my partner move in. He was within 20 yards for the better part of a hour, thick brush and reprod kept him from getting shot at again. :bash: it was close and he had drew his bow many times! That bull left us finally and went to someother partners of ours and had another bugle fest for another hour befor coming back to us and toying with us one last time for the evening. The next morning was quiet. Heard other hunters primos bugles but that was it... then he showed up.

Here is my Pope and Young Spike. He just made it above the minimum of 30" required for the books. He grossed 36", but one side was longer than the other so he had 2 1/2" of deductions so he netted 33 1/2" :IBCOOL:
Here is the story if anyone wants to know.

This years muzzy elk first pic and my Idaho rifle bull. There are some great bulls this year, good job guys. Oops, the second pic is last years Idaho bull, looking for this years bull.... Can't seem to find it on my computer, may be one of the mods can move my pic from Idaho bull success again, title that I posted up in October? If it's no trouble?
-
There are some real nice bulls on here, great thread! I drew my first Washington branch antlered bull tag this year. I saw this bull early in the hunt but he was too far, the second time I saw him he was a little closer and gave me time to get set-up better. The scenery was amazing on this hunt as well. Remington 700 in 300RUM

Can u post a pic from a smartphone ? If so how?

Got my first bull this year. I was happy to get him and on opening day!
Chased several bulls in the morning, only catching glimpses of them even though I was within 50 yards multiple times, just no openings or shooting lanes. In the afternoon things were kind of slow so I made a plan to head into the wind to another area. He crossed in front of me at 40 with the wind in my favor. Had one shooting lane he paused in as I kind of spit out a whistle to stop him.
McKayla was not impressed but I am very happy for a first bull.
-
:chuckle:
-
Women....huh! :chuckle:
I am used to hunting elk in Colorado and I know that the west coast are a different family, but are the small multiple point antlers common on this species? Some look like the have deer headgear. :dunno:
-
Forgot to send mine in last year so here is my first elk, may not be a monster but made me very happy! Better late then never LOL :sry:
-
This is my 17 year old son's first elk and only his second animal( one whitetail doe).
He shot it at noon on opening day in the Quoilmene unit. We found it at 250 yards and we had to watch it for 20 minutes because the left spike had a piece of velvet hanging from the the left antler and in the wind it would look like a 2 point, spike only unit.
He laid my 30.06 over his pack frame and shot it, the elk fell to its knees and then stood back up, he put another shot in it and it dropped in his tracks. He listened to his Dad when I told him to keep shooting at the elk until it goes down for good.
Then the fun began it took us 6 hours to get him to the road. All in all a great day and a very proud dad.
He was quick to remind me that he killed his first bull elk in only 2 years of hunting when dad has been hunting for 30+ years and no bull elk. I plan to remedy that Monday with my Peaches Ridge any bull tag.
We had Coulee Creek Taxidermy do the European mount.
It was the biggest spike elk I have every seen, 39" spikes.
Picture is not that great and I lost all my field pictures when I dropped my cell phone in a tank of sodium hypochlorite.
-
That euro mount spike looks awesome, I was wondering what one of those would look like.
-
Turned out great, looks better than just a horn mount and a spike is to small to spend the $650.00 to do a shoulder mount.
-
some of those are going to make some good shoulder mounts in your houses
