so guys, heres the question, what kind of calls do you carry around your neck, and why do you like them. on my neck is a sean mann big water, a mann timber, a foils streight meat honker, a tim grounds triple crown, an echo goose call, and a mick lacey chinook. i will take one or two off depending on the season, but a mann timber and the mick lacey chinook allways stay in close reach. those two calls sound great and i blow them well. the foils is ok, and the tim grounds is simply awsome sounding and fast as it gets. the mann big water is loud and i almost never use it,. the chinook, my least expensive call is my favorat for some reason, it just sounds right. what do you guys use and why??

All el-cheapos to date. My favorite is actually a wooden call by Faulks. Real "crunchy" quack to that one. One by Buck Gardener, not bad...freezes up though.... I am still learning...only a few duck seasons under the belt so far.
I am interested in finding a call that will provide a really low sounding quack... Hunted near one guy last year that had a really low single quack to his repertoire', sounded great...
I have looked in the glass case at the real duck calls... :yike: Holy smokes, you guys pay that much for calls!!!???

lol, gotta have that crow call handy for sure, i often carry one. i think my best shot last year was on a pidgon, i hit that bird at about 10 yards. usually when you hit a bird it comes down in a slow arch, but that pidgon looked like it flew into a wall, all forward motion stoped. i swear it. the most i have payed for a call is $60 ant that was for the triple crown. i got both manns for $80, the foils for $50. i bought all them high doller calls for low doller prices, used, ebay etc.im not willing to pay $200 for a call, but im willing to pay $50 for one because it has a little use behind it. just so long as it sounds good. i like used stuff. the benelli i shoot, i traded a used 870 remington, and $200 for it. good used stuff, lol.

Same here, for ducks i use Primos Yo' Sista', and the feedin mallard shaker call, two lohman's wooden duck calls, and a wigeon/pintail/teal wistle call.
and for geese i have a lohman goose call, and a Buck Garner canadian goose call.
All cheap price wise, but they have served me well and brought many ducks/geese my way.

I own a Faulks duck call and I do believe a Faulks goose call. Both are at least 30+ years old. I had a new duck call given to me by Ray as a gift last year. I am anxious to use it as it has a very low deep quack to it. I figure with that call and my old Faulks I am in good shape. The Faulks can to rapid calls with ease not so with the other, so between the two I have what I believe a working combo.
