Been hunting the Winston area for about 10 years and have always camped on the south end of Riffe Lake. I hunt on the bak side boardering the 524 unit does anyone have any suggestions for a closer camp ground. I looked at Kid Valley camp grounds but they are booked. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

IKE KINSWA STATE PARK
They have alot of spots left and a couple cabins.
We make reservations there every year cause my dad is disabled vetern but we still camp up in the woods just come down there to shower and restock supplies every 3 or 4 days. Last 2 years we only had to restock once cause we got our bull and cow...

Sorry to hear Kid Valley is booked. Usually it's booked by the same guys year after year. Seaquest State park is wide open for hunting season--just talked to them (and bought a Discover Pass for DNR land w/o fees) yesterday. Folks are very creative finding tiny bits of right of way/public land to camp along 504. Next year Cowlitz County should have a new campground ready for hunting season on the South Toutle River.

Camp out the 4200 on the state land....

A lot of people park their campers at the big park and ride where the Toledo cut off from Toledo meets Spirit Lake Highway, gets full fast during Elk season.

Looks like I should start a hunting camp at my place in Toutle.
