So we have been working on the boat for the last few weeks (pics on another thread), got it ready, new bearings in the trailer today even! So middle of last week the guy that basically owns the boat (long story) gets reminded that he committed to helping a friend clean up a rental, I told him to help the previous obligation ( it pays very well also ). So the opening weekend gets cancelled, I would go solo, but my dog is not trained, I can't call, and no boaters card (thank you communist state). Then a friend calls and says "let's go" C-Had tells me take the boat and go; sweet we are killing birds again.....
Got everything ready just need to gas up the suburban and will be ready for 3am tomorrow, head to the store to get a few little things and then fuel the bus up. Stop at the grocery store and hear a nice hissing sound.........S**T........intake gasket went poof!
So no tow rig now, had to tell my 8y/o son, sorry no birds tomorrow; he can't hunt yet but he was looking forward to the thrill and I really wanted to see his excitement! Long story short have boat, need truck!
PS my YJ will tow it just dandy, but the 350 I put in it is too thirsty for the 60 miles to Sprague Lake!

I think its better than your bad luck came before the season gets underway. It would have sucked really bad if it happened with boat in tow and got stranded with both. I hope your season turns around for the better.

Could be worse, no doubt. My water pump recently went out in my driveway. Thank God it didn't happen out in the boonies.

I'll share my truck if you got an empty seat in the boat.. :chuckle:
