Title: coyote and bobcat calling and this certain type of bird keeps comeing in?
Post by: shorthair15 on October 15, 2011, 09:17:49 PM
this bird that looks blue and black with feathers sticking up on its head keeps comeing in when i use the pup distress and lightning jack on my fox pro and squaking away. im wondering if this thing is warning anything else to not come in. sounds crazy but its just a hunch hunted two different units and the darn thing showed up three times. what do you think. or is it just some crazy birds looking for a free meal. not sure what type opf bird this is.

When most birds come into a call it is actually sometimes better because it adds realism.

Sounds like a Steller's jay.  They love to scavenge.

Very interesting. Last March when I was is Arizona, I called a Dawg in, directly behind me and to the right about a 100 yrds,  I would of had to turn completely to shoot at it but I decided to wait, it would of seen me otherwise. I didnt want to move. There was a bird in a shrub about 15 feet behind me making all kinds of noise, and  the dawg wouldnt present itself, it just kept on going out of site and I never saw it again. I am convinced that bird had something to do with it.
