ok since there is a post for the vail tree farm i figured i would start on about the hancock lands. anyone with a permit for it get or see anything or have heard of anything taken out of there this year. just curious cause i know there are some good bucks in there.
-
Heard a couple shots opener but it was so foggy we didnt run into anyone with deer in the truck. We saw a little spike bedded and that was it for me before I went to work.
-
seen some does out there, seen some indians with a MONSTER 6x6 BULL, and a cougar today we couldnt get out and on in time... other then that nothing but fog mmmhmmm :bash: ohwell i got a 5 day weekend this weekend starting wednesday. :bash:
-
I was is in the buckley gate all of saturday and majority of sunday. Saw 10 elk on saturday and that was it for animals heard the mucks shooting quite a bit but nothing on the property. But man that fog was there all day long and was thick most of the day get 30 minute breaks every now and again but the deer werent moving. Hope next weekend is better
-
My dad was hunting out by elbe on sunday and said the same thing the fog was really bad and hung around around the whole time and was still there when he left at 2.
-
I was in buckley till about 530 on saturday and 330 on sunday and it never really left I have a couple pics I will post them in a bit
-
Why would you even waste your time in the Buckley Gate?
-
well I have been hunting in there the last 13 years and have had very good luck. I have taken a buck the last two years and either three or four years ago my dad took a monster 4x4 out of there. I have no reason to go anywhere else besides the strong possibility that the mucks have wiped most of the deer out. The only reason for thinking that is that the last two years they have been in there my personal sightings of deer has dropped big time. But I enjoy hunting in there alot. Is that reason enough :dunno:
-
Heard through the grapevine of a couple being taken out of the Hancock Snoqualmie Farm.
-
So let me get this right, the mucks bought land up high in the buckly gate of hancock? And so I'm guessing they can now hunt hancock from the gate on? If so, what a major bummer. Goodbye deer and elk behind that gate.

I actually found myself reading a Muckleshoot Tribe Annual Report last summer and it said the reason for them buying these timberlands was of course to protect their treaty rights but also to protect themselves from getting ticketed by WDFW Officers.
-
yeah they bought like one third of the property and its the outside third and they were quick to gate it off. The hunting wasnt that great on the property they bought but there was enough land that if one day you werent feeling like hiking you could kill a day driving back there. Its a shame really I have been hunting there my whole life in the buckley gate and from what I have heard it will be soon enough that they buy the rest of the property and there is also talk the are gonna buy the central bridge gate property. Looks like I will be hunting white tail in spokane soon enough
-
I was in the Buckley gate as well all weekend. The fog was rough, saw 6 does early in the day Saturday and 3 just before dark but no bucks. This was in between the fog lifting and dropping back down. Didnt see a single animal Sunday.
-
goin out late tomorrow through monday hope the fog has decided to leave finally. My dad was up the wednesday and spooked and big bodied deer before day break wasnt able to get a shot due to it being before shooting hours and couldnt see a rack. Anyways anyone have luck up there yet
-
One of my friends shot at a big buck a few days ago and missed. He said it was a big 4 point but I know where he was and at that distance I doubt you could count points, so who knows.
-
Going to head up there for a couple hours tomorrow morning. I saw a real nice two point earlier in the year. I told him to stay put until October, hoping he listened to me
-
I told a couple deer I saw earlier this year the same thing but they definitly didnt listen so its time to go and get them. I have a good feeling about this weekend.
-
i say let them buy the whole dam tree farm .them tell them to stay the h-ll out of green water. :twocents:
-
I talked to the GW at the game check on opening day in the Snoq farm, and they only checked 2 spikes and a 2x3.
-
Was at Kapowsin opening day and saw nothing and heard nothing. Going out to drive around the bridge side today for awhile and hunt hard tomorrow. The Muckelshoots have been rumored to be going to buy the kapowsin area for a few years now. :bdid:
-
Haven't seen much, one decent 3pt before shooting hours and a few does. Maybe things will pick up soon
-
2 Point with small eye gaurds this morning up there. Heard a fair amount of shooting also, so I bet its a good weekend up there.
-
Was up there all day yesterday and saw 3 does and 3 fawns.
