My father really likes smoked salmon but recently had a heart attack. My question is......has anyone used New Salt (sp?) Salt substitute in their brine instead of salt. I want to make him a batch but dont want to waste the salmon with an experiment if I dont have to.

Do up a piece and see what happens. Sounds like a good reason to try it a bit.

sometimes the accidental batch turns out to be the best!!Give it a shot, and let us know how it worked out
