I did a little (ok, alot) of fishing over the weekend and had a blast. I caught a little of everything on an assortment of gear. I caught my largest sunfish and crappie. The crappie was the size of a dinner plate and the sunfish would have spilled over a saucer.
I also caught some perch, small largemouth bass, about 30 rock bass and even a catfish on micro jigs.
I have no idea how many trout I caught (about 40+) including one triploid that weighed 8lbs and one that I let go that was easily twice that size.
Here is a pic of the only fish I kept all weekend. I released it but it kept rolling over and floating belly up so we tried to hold him level for almost 10 minutes. He would try to swim off but then roll over again. He was 26 inches, weighed 8lbs exactly and the only thing in his stomach was two little Alder cones and a couple little twigs.

I guess, with all the fish you caught I would have been frustrated too :dunno: :chuckle:

I was frustrated with the fact that I had to kill the one trout.. The fishing was great, but I sure didn't want to clean any. :chuckle:

My heart bleeds for you Billy! ;) I'm jealous. I've gotta find another pond to take the kids. The last one had a bunch of 6-8 lb rainbows in it but the otters got them all and killed the pond. All of my favorite beaver ponds have either had the dams busted or are full of trash from hillbillies or are waaaaaaay behind locked gates now.

Nice trout. A dinner plate sized crappie would make a good meal too but I hear you about having to clean them.

Some butter, bacon bits, lemon juice and seasoning... just add heat!
It's in the oven now. Well most of it. I filleted the tail section and it is in the freezer.

Nice Fish. Sounds like a fun weekend!
:chuckle: One of these days someone is going to get a picture of you smiling BTKR.

Maybe if he heard me on my predator calls he would laugh... ;)
Nice catch man. Cheers to that.

I think it's the camo with the white T-shirt causing his frustration knowing he's not color coordinated for the photo. :chuckle:

Billy, if you want those panfish cleared out of your honey hole to make room for those trout, PM me the directions... I will do my best to put the hurt on them for you. I like cleaning the fish! Keep my freezer topped off....
