Title: Skagit Area
Post by: AMESmith87 on October 21, 2011, 03:56:43 PM
Looking for a spot that has deer in Skagit, Live on the Island, wana stay close to it. I would like to find a place where I will at least see deer. Went out to Yakima opening weekend, and the place was packed and no deer in sight. So I don't want to waste more gas trying to get a deer. I just need some public land to get my first buck. Ive searched and have read of a few areas I might go try.

Half way through hunting season is not the time to be looking for a hunting area. Asking someone to give you that area on a platter isn't the way to find it either.

I guess he told you. :dunno:
Go out and find a clear cut.. Theres lots of them that I see when I drive thru up around the cuckanut drive area.
Good luck..
Oh You should also bust out your map book. Also check on the WDFW website the interactive link might help you in finding some public land.
