Title: Slow Early Season on Westside
Post by: ValleyHunter on October 23, 2011, 12:14:51 AM
Anyone else have trouble spotting blackies on the Westside during early archery this year? I guess the 80+ degree weather kept them on their bellies in the brush. My buddy and I tried everything and couldn't get the drop on anything. Guess that's hunting.

No, actully for me it seemed very good. Because of work I was only able to go out 4 or 5 times last month but each day I saw at least a dozen deer and at least 1 buck a day. On Labor day I think I saw 18 deer and 4 bucks. 2 3pts and 2 2pts. They were all out of range and couldn't get any  closer. I love hunten in september, lots and lots of deer out and the bucks are still wondering around acting dumb.

 :yeah:

Saw a ton of deer.  Personally, I'd rather hunt Sept than now.  I hate rain.
