I took a picture with my foot next to it so you could see the size. By the way I have size 13 boots. :hunter:

Looks like a nice big bodied bird. Got a picture of the spurs? Kind of curious if it was an old bird.
-
Anytime you can get one that the tail feathers split it is a older bird
How long were the spurs?
-
Obviously the dog is workin out for ya!

Very nice!

I forgot to take a pic of the spurs darn it. They were about 5/8" I don't know how old that makes him, but he sure was huge. He was near a feed lot so maybe he was getting some cast off cow steroids. :chuckle:
Wildweeds- Yeah he's working out great. He never creeps on a point and he's not afraid of getting in the thick stuff. His close range actually works well for where I hunt. I'm working on his retrieve too he is starting to get it. Thanks again.

That looks like a beautiful bird. Sounds like you had a good hunt.

Count the bands on the tail feathers. I know some folks that use 28+ as a good old bird.

Counted the stripes, it has 31 on both of the longest feathers. I guess he was an old bird.
