Was curious if anyone has any info on the Lincoln unit (501) For elk. I noticed in the regs it's anterless as well as 3 point min. How's the elk in there? What's the access like? Is it worth a shot to check it out? Although I'm not new to elk hunting, I'm still looking to bag my first elk, cow or bull. Any info would help! Thanks!

Anyone? Has no one hunted in there? Must not be any elk in there. Hmmm :yeah:

I have went up in there a few times, there seems to be one little herd in there and a whole bunch of road hunters, because it is a 3pt or antlerless everyone and their brother that road hunts is in there. Opening morning they shoot a few of them and then the heard heads out of town. That is about all I know lots of clear cuts and lots of people. Seem's if memory serves me right there were only a couple of roads in there but lots of walking and some big timber.

there is a pheasant release area at the end of lincoln creek, i have seen elk while deer hunting there(of course) . Lots of quad guys riding around gates so you would have to sneak through the timber and stay off of logging roads even if they are gated. good luck :twocents:
