amen to that lab lovin duck hunter ;) we think alike. Great pic  I love getting good shots of my dogs as well. I have a ton of 11x14 prints of my first 2 labs with retrieves and still pictures. My female lab is about the same age. Will be 2 late December. Because of the way things were with moving and such, i only was able to hunt her half of last season and she had a few retrieves, then i moved again and starting all over. I'll be good from here on out. I loved watching my pup pull in her first honker last year. It was my first big western canadian. I'm on my 3rd lab and i love hunting with a dog and watching their every move the way they perform. I really get excited. this small honker and the 13 lb western both came down with the first shot. I was floored to see 2 of them fall. I was living in Lynden and sure miss the corn. This was a flooded potato field. It made my whole season. gonna try to get my goose mounted one of these days.

THANKS for the compliments guys
Bigcans I've been at this duck and dog stuff for a lot of years and many dogs now most of which were some soret of lab cross (hence the X in LOVEMYLAB X S ) and like you there are many pics on the walls of most of them I hardly go any where any more with out my trusty little Kodak Z812 in my pocket :chuckle: This shot ain't that clear but you want to talk PROUD it was Chases 1st retrieve last year at 5 months. He's full Lab but was the last of 11 pups and so the guy ended up giving him to me (sold the rest at 500 apiece) but as far as I know he's the only one that HUNTS so guess I got the best for free :IBCOOL: By the way nice dek in the forground sets of your shot nicely

oh my gosh, awesome dude. I'm not hijacking your thread. It's just great to see someone talk about their dogs. FREE? it's nice to have friends. so happens i got this last pup free when i was living in AK. She got a late start as she was born in Dec. but my first 2 labs were born in May and June. I'll include a pic here of my pup Sarah at 5 months with her first pintail. I had a lousy camera at the time and too much blurry stuff on her way coming in. she held it in her mouth near this make shift tomato bin blind and i snapped the pick. I have many more but won't take up any more room on this thread. not trying to be lame, just also showing some 5 mo. old pics. it's great to see them love what they were born to do. My current lab I'm not sure if she's purebred. I never have been in a situation like this when getting a lab i don't know much about. I usually spend the money for a lab but sometimes ya might take a chance. Just hope her hips don't go out on her at a young age. Roll the dice for a free pup and hope for the best. i wasn't ready for another dog after losing my last one and at work, the boss said his wifes son and his wife were giving a litter away. They just said the mom was knocked up by the lab next door and i never saw the male lab but the way my lab is built, she sure doesn't remind me of a lab. But this pup is full of Nitro, i should have named her that. I've not had a lab with this kind of energy. One high point last season was knocking down a drake mallard and i knew it was gonna be a test and lots of fun for the dog as i turned her loose and watched the show!! she went back n forth chasing that mallard in the sheet ice as the bird had a busted wing and she finally chased it down :hello:
