After 13 years I got drawn for a Peaches tag. I shot this 6x6 on Friday by Peoh Point-my first bull and I am really happy. Public land-285 yards, dropped him with one shot from the 300 WSM. I shot him on a side hill and we were able to drive close enough through rocks logs and potholes to tie a couple of 100 ft ropes together and drag him close to a bench. We backed up to the bench and my husband, our friend Rodney and I were able to inch him into the truck with ropes, we got him out whole, but it took a couple of hours to get him in the truck. Another hunt-wa member, danderson lives close enough that we could go to his place and he was kind enough to hoist him up with his loader so that we could skin him out. Thanks Dan, it was a pleasure meeting you and you are a hell of a nice guy. This is my first bull, Iv'e gotten 2 cows, each of which were a hike to get out, I am happy that this one wasn't hell to get out. Taxi thinks he will go 310, estimate on weight is 900#, estimate on age is 6-7. All I know is that we have meat in the freezer. We've had a couple of meals off him so far and he is GOOD. Not the best pics, might add more when we get home. For comparison on the pic where he is skinned out-I am 5'-8". Got to go...t ime to fill my husband's spike tag! Did I say I was excited???!!! :IBCOOL:
