So I went out with my neighbor yesterday deer hunting in the stampede pass area. I have been all over that area five or six different times and don't see very many animals. In 7 hours yesterday we saw two does and 6 cow elk. I personally don't like the area because it just seems like a dead zone. I am a muzzy hunter and just went along to help him out. There are always a ton of people hunting the area and really can't figure out why. Do any of you actually kill nice black tails in this area. If you do congrats. Just curious to why people waste there time in that area.

I also see few deer. In fact I ran into a gamie on the 2nd weekend of the season on a sunday and he said at that time he'd not checked a single person with a deer! This was coming in from the Greenwater side up FSRD70 tho. As to why I hunt there...good question. :bash:

I have seen plenty of does up there, but not many bucks. Mostly just scouting around since I hunt "near" there... LOL
