Title: Reminder - 60 day drying period required prior to official measuring
Post by: bow4elk on November 01, 2011, 11:08:47 PM
60 days defined as: from the time the skull or skull plate (if cut out for antlered/horned game) is clean of all hide/tissue.  Store antlers, horns, and skulls in a dry place such as a garage, basement, shop, etc.  I don't recommend storing them outside in rafters, etc. because in the fall/winter, they are subject to a lot of humidity and moisture and more importantly, they can be swiped by critters and hauled off into the night.

Feel free to contact me for measuring for Pope & Young Club, NW Big Game (state books for WA, OR, ID, MT), NMLRA, and I can score/enter your sheds for Oregon Shed Hunters.

Some great animals have been taken this year!!  Congrats to all who have filled their tags!
