Title: My daughters doe
Post by: Gutpile on November 04, 2011, 04:20:10 PM
Havent been around in a while so figured I'd post my girl's lil doe. She had to work for this one. Nothing doing opening weekend but was able to get this doe right at sun down on the following friday. She hit this deer at 165 yards with a .243 cal Tikka T3 lite loaded with 95 grn partitions at about 2900 fps. I have never seen such a dramatic kill. The deer just fell straight down and never even twitched. This is #4 at 14 years old. Not too shabby. Finally got some game back in the freezer WooHoo!!!!!! I'm still searching for my buck and elk. Got a late buck tag and a december muzzy cow elk tag. See you around!!  :-*

After the shot. Can you find her?

As she lays. The spot on the neck is not the hit. It was a high boiler room which took out both lungs.

I know some dont like the youth antlerless hunts, but for the kids they are great.  We have some years where we are into bucks, and my kids get to take one.  Then there are years like this one that we mainly seen 2pts, and my kids still get to harvest an animal without me having to burn them out pushing them too hard.  Tell your daughters congradulations on her success thats a good looking doe.

Love the youth doe tags.  Give them opportunity to get the first kill under their belt, at least for the most part.  I love seeing the pictures of the kids and their deer regardless of the deer size!  Congratulations!

Very Nice.  Congratulations to your daughter and hats off to you for giving her the opportunity.  My daughter also took advantage of the youth antlerless permits and it was a great way to not only provide opportunity but to give them valuable experiences to carry them into future hunts.  Great job.
