Ok, let me start by saying that this is not how I have ever approached a hunt before but it's been a really rough year. So I drew a late season Entiat archery tag and until this last week didn't even think I would be able to go. But thanks to some last minute luck and an amazing girlfriend who is doing everything she can to get me to be able to go on this hunt it looks like I am gonna be able to hunt the last week or so of the season. It all started when back in the beginning of summer all of my hunting gear, close to $6000 worth of sitka gear, packs, knives, boots, well it was absolutely everything I owned except my bow and one pack, got stolen. Since then I haven't been able to replace much since I have been going through a divorce the last couple years and money has been very tight. Well the divorce was final in september, I sold an extra car that I had last week, and I have had a couple weeks of overtime at work. So this weekend we've been just enough last minute shopping to replace the eccentials and get some good cold weather gear so that we can make it over to hunt this coming wednesday night til the end of the season. Oh, I forgot to also mention that the house we have been renting is getting forclosed on so we also had to find a new house to rent since the owner forgot to tell us this in august when we payed our deposit and rented the house. So we found a house and are moving currently today so that tomorrow I can hopefully fix my truck that I need for the hunt since the rearend just went out in it. Just a quick recap of how my year has gone, not looking for sympathy, just telling the story so hopefully everyone understands my position. I do not know the unit as I did not scout cause I really didn't think I'd get to hunt it. So here it is, I can't find a map of the unit first, does anyone know which is best and where I can get one? What is the closest town to where I should be hunting? Is there a motel I can stay at since I no longer have a wall tent? I have used the search function so I kinda know the names of where people say to hunt but I don't know where they are because I don't have a map yet. We would really like to find a motel that is less than an hour drive if it's possible. Thanks everyone in advance for any help with my questions.

Again, I'm not trying to make anyone feel bad for me or anything like that, just trying to explain why I am asking for so much last minute help.

Ever heard of google?
Hotels in Wenatchee! About a 20 minute drive to your unit.
Hooked on Toys has maps of the unit. Or, just get them online.
Do a little searching on this site, try "entiat" as your search word. Just read and you'll get all the info you need.
Have fun!

Get your butt to Wenatchee and start getting the miles put on your boots dude. No time to spare.

LMCmaps can have a GMU map to you in 2 days, Wholesale Sports also carries them. The Washington State Recreation Gazeteer outlines all the GMU's ans shows very useable detail! Take as many blankets and you can and camp in your rig? I started seeing bucks in the Chiwawa just below or right at the beginning of the snow line feeding last week. :twocents:

Like others have said, there are plenty of motels in Wenatchee from cheap to expensive and it is only 20 minutes from the start of the unit. Go west up the Entiat river road and start your hunt up the Mud creek road. Good tires and chains are a must for this unit if you want to get up high. I have seen alot of deer down low and up high so it just depends on where you want to hunt. Most of the bigger migrators are going to be at snow line or above. Mud creek road will get you up pretty high, also try Potato creek road as it meets up with mud creek towards the top. There are alot of draws and canyons to work through in these areas. Glass, glass, glass and you will find plenty of deer. Good luck!
