Anyone been down to goose hunt on the willipa refuge? Was thinking of heading down in the morning.... have seen some geese working farther north but havnt been able to make it that far south. Hopefully there are some geese in the area.

Yeah we went for the afternoon hunt.... and to say the least it wasn't so good. We had some geese work and had one at 20the yards and didn't shoot... I am gun shy about the whole dusky thing. I have shot one down there a couple years ago that the biologist said was borderline on if it was a dusky or not but still tagged me for it and I felt like I had just poached which isn't me. The biologist Wednesday said she only che led 5in from the refuge and most of the other 12 were from the private goose club. Only 17 on the day. You should pm me about southbend that's where I started Wednesday morning. And hunted Monday also. Good Luck to everyone.

The Dusky situation and the fact that Aleutians are protected there make it a hard hunt. Now Obama has closed all hunting in the Bay.
PRESIDENTIAL PROCLAMATION AREA
The waters surrounding Long Island and much of southern Willapa Bay are closed to all waterfowl hunting by Presidential Proclamation. Please check Refuge map for exact boundaries.

better get your facts straight. the proclamation created the refuge well before obumbles was even born! the bay is most certainly open to hunt, just closed around some parts around long island etc.
