Title: Elk and deer openers?
Post by: huntnnw on November 23, 2011, 08:32:57 AM: I would like to know the reasoning behind the 1 day difference between the 2 seasons...makes 0 sense to me why isnt deer open today...still 3 days shorter than what we use to get! I guess they want people screwing up so they can write tickets..get that revenue WDFW

Muzzleloader elk opens today, but muzzleloader deer opens tomorrow.

I emailed someone at the department last year and asked why don't they have deer and elk opening on the same day, but I never got a reply back.

Post by: longknife on November 24, 2011, 10:03:56 AM: I noticed in my archery area, in the early season, they used to have the opener the same time elk, and deer. Now Deer are a week ahead of elk, and it spooks the hell out of the elk by the opener!
