Was up there till late morning. Tons of snow a week ago followed by tons of rain the past couple days followed by overnight freezing made for some less than desireable conditions this morning. I walked as slow as I could to get to my setup but I know every deer within 50 miles could hear me crunching through the snow. There were a couple other rigs up there and somebody must have sat down on their keys and hit the panic button on their truck. Nothing better than watching the sun rise to the sounds of a truck horn going off for 5 minutes. The duck hunters were slaying them down on the river though pretty steadily until about 9am. Didn't see a single deer, but I'll be back at it tomorrow.

I wasn't there, but might head over there next year about this time. Keep me posted on how you do... Sounds cold!

Will do. I'll probably only be up for the evening tomorrow then am tied up all weekend, but I'll be camped up there for about 4 days in early December

A friend and I are heading over there tomorrow morning. By the time we get out of Cabelas and up there it will probably be dark. Hope the weekend is good for the hunt. How much snow is left there now?

There was about 8 - 12 sloppy inches or so.

Thanks! Nice to know what to expect for conditions.

We plan on hunting Saturday, Sunday, and the last few years with crappy luck, Monday too. I have a dentist appt. Tuesday, so any longer and I'll have to call and rescedule. We've been staying at the Eagle's Nest Motel in Priest River, ID. the last few years. We're both too old for that sleeping on the cold ground stuff. :chuckle:

Cool, good luck to you over the weekend
