I need a little help on what would be the best trip to take as far as a day trip. I know the river a little but unsure how long it would take to get from one place to another. Can I get from Happa to town in a day? Also anyone do shuttles over there? Thinking about coming over and doing a couple of trips for some winter fish. Any help would be great and appreciated.

You can do that in a day, time depends on how long you anchor up or pull plugs. But if you're going to put in at Happa why not put in at Cedar Creek instead? There is good fishing between Cedar Creek & Happa & you could still make it to Woodland.
Personally though I don't like drifting to Woodland. For me its to long of a drift & I don't like the water, but maybe thats because I'm not familiar with or knowledge of that stretch. In fact I don't even know where to take out in woodland anymore.
I almost always drift the hatchery to the golf course, on the Cowlitz County side, fishing from daybreak to 2:00 or 3:00. Occasionaly I'll drift from Merwin to the golf course & thats an easy day drift also.
PM me if you want any additional info.

Thanks Allen. I did some more research and thats what I found. I fished this area as a kid but out of a sled so I was clueless on how long it would take in a drift boat. I fished the Klickitat all summer so this drift should be cake. I havent seen this water in probably 20 years or more.

I'm so surprised this posting hasn't gotten more replys.
Back to your original posting I'm not sure about shuttles, there are a couple tackle shops in Woodland that may offer them.
I'm planning to try the Lewis this weekend, been on the Kalama a few times with no success. Lost one winter, a couple other take downs, but with this dry weather it's getting pretty low & clear.

I know I figured it would be a hot topic. I was hoping I would be drifting the NFL on the 16th and 17th but its going to work out. Maybe in January. Allen have you ever floated the Klickitat?
