Headed east after work Monday night to do some hunting. Tuesday morning put me and my buddy on a ridge glaring for deer. spotted many does and smaller bucks but nothing I was interested in or could stalk on.later that evening we found a nice 3x3 with ten does in a large wheat field. no opportunity for a stalk but we put him.to bed hoping to find him in the morning. Wednesday morning yielded several bucks with blown stalks until we spotted this guy bedded in a strip of sage brush ten yards wide that separated. two winter wheat fields luckily he was needed facing away and I.was able to sneak to the edge of the sage right next to him. once I got there my buddy let out a coyote call 100 yards away which brought the buck to his feet. he bounded a few yards out putting him 25 yards from me and had all of his attention located on my buddy. once he stopped I hit him with a double lung and he went 30 yards before going down. I was elated as was my buddy on his first archery experience. I think I may have converted him

Beauty of a buck and sounds like you two make a great team. Nice work!

Nice heavy horns and good character!

Great job, I love the mass on those antlers. Way to get your buddy hooked.

Nice buck but man is it me or does that deer look sick? :dunno:
-
He was sick had a broken left leg and he was very skinny. I don't think he.would of made it through December but I'm happy with a sick deer. felt like I did him a favor.

Yeah I was going to say before reading the posts that it looked like his front left leg got blown out, maybe a wounded buck from modern season. Good thing you got him, nice buck congrats!
