Title: Last two days
Post by: gotshot on December 07, 2011, 05:13:44 AM
Well with 2 days left of late muzzleloader in 503 and 505 I think I will mosey around and see what I can see. I have hunted deer hard all year and didn't do any good so I am gonna take the walk in the woods approach and see if I can get lucky.

Closed in the 503 for Deer muzzle, open for elk.

Neither 503 or 505 is open for deer. Look at your regulations. The only 500 GMU's open for muzzleloader deer are:

501, 504, 564, and 550.

The first three are open for "any deer" and 550 (Coweeman) is open for "any buck".

Not again, Please read the regs BEFORE you hunt.

I guess I didn't say it too well. I was going for the last two days of elk. I had a modern deer tag. Thanks for the concern :)

Day 1 not too good. Like trying to find a needle in a really big haystack, maybe today will be my day.

Just beware what you post Goshot as the guys on here are more than willing to pile on anything you post thinking worst first.

This was posted in "General Discussion" and the only species mentioned was deer, so it's understandable why people would assume he was talking about hunting deer. If it had been posted in "Elk Hunting" that might have provided us with more of a clue. No big deal. I don't think he got his feelings hurt too bad.   :'(

No, I am a big boy. The only thing that hurt my feelings today was having to walk past those gutpiles.

So you didn't see any animals at all?

No it was pretty quiet along the Cispus river. I guess there was a small group running around there but they lost 3 cows including the lead cow. I think they high tailed it into the Packwood unit. Which brings me to this. I did a quick look through the regs. and couldn't find anything open in Packwood 516 including permits but I sure saw a lot of guys glassing south of the 300 rd. and heading down roads with guns in hand.

Yeah, Packwood is not open, but I'm sure a lot of people either don't know where the boundaries are, or just don't care.
