Post by: Secret Squirrel on December 09, 2011, 10:19:10 AM
Did anyone drop off an elk to Fischer’s this year?  I got 3 packages of Elk Tenderloins in with my Deer WTF?  how much of my deer did they give away.  2 deer and 1 box!  I am going back to the butcher today with the elk and going to ask that question point blank to the owner.

Did you end up with more meat than you dropped off?

exhibit #30947539475934759437594375 on why you should butcher your own meat.

That is one place I do not recommend.  I had a batch of pepperoni made there once and ended up throwing most of it away.

Funny this came up.

I took my cow into my butcher this year. While we were loading it in the cooler. The butcher had some hired help there with him. Well this nutcase was spraying a pulley down with WD40 and guess where all the excess was going, All over some poor guys elk!!!!!!  I Said" hey man your squirting that *censored* all over that elk"  The butcher heard me yelling at the *censored* and lets say the ass chewing began. I also think the guy lost his job, he was not around when my elk was picked up..

they still have most of my deer and are doing some Peperoni and summer sausage but called earlier and said it was ready.  My wife picked it up and there was elk in the box....some poor hunter is not going to be happy.  These guys are expensive too, .90 a point hanging weight.
