Post by: hunterrcc on December 14, 2011, 08:44:16 AM
I have some family over from holland thought I would drive them by to look at elk but I know that alot of areas are closed to foot/vechicles this time of year. Looking between yAkima and Ellensburg west of 82. As we will be driving that way to visit some friends. Pm me if u know of some places we can drive still

Oak Creek would be your best bet.  I know there is no snow driving them down yet, so who knows.  I was up at LT Murray and there were some tracks, but no animals...

Travel at first and last light along that area and might catch some out along highway.

Thanks.  I know the gates are suppose to be closed and I was hoping to stay away from the feed stations so we can hike around a little bit.

This is the most ingenious way to ask for a honey hole I've ever seen.

J/K :chuckle:  Wish I could help.  I don't know the area though.

LoL...no not looking for honey holes cuz the elk aren't in the same areas now as hunting season... Plus I have got my holes but alot of it is closed to humans now or the gates are closed making it a super long walk to get into the areas.  Anyways I think we are going to head up the wenas area to start hopefully I will have some pics for u soon.

The gates lock going into the Wenas Dec. 5.  Great place to go for a walk and see some elk not standing on hay bales during the winter, lots of ground to cover and lots of wildlife.
