Any thoughts on a very inexpensive and fast alternative to a layout blind? I don't have much cash. Has anyone ever used the camo burlap? I have a cow pasture that I can hunt, it's grassy. Suggestions? Grattis!

Where are you hunting? I've got a nice Avery lay down that could be loaned out for minimal (a duck would be nice) compensation.

I've used plain burlap a couple times field hunting. I think it works ok, just make sure you have some natural vegetation to lay over it. Not that comfortable but most of the time i wear my waders to keep warm and dry.

Does the field have a ditch line?

Camp pad and burlap.

Thank you for the suggestions, I really appreciate it. I'll grab a camp mat and burlap at the local sporting goods store. No, there is no ditch line, just a plain jane fence line with lots of grass and cow poo! YAY! But I see geese holding up there mid mornings.

If you are buying the burlap that has stuff printed on it, like a grass land camo pattern, make sure you rub it in the mud and dirty it up. My uncle bought some one time and it was almost shiny.

Get 2-3 yards of the green burlap for the green field. Or look on line as some of those blinds are cheap!
