Title: Looking for some public fields to hunt geese?
Post by: big game hunter on December 27, 2011, 06:43:15 PM
I not sure if there is such thing as public fields, but my father and I need a place to hunt geese in western washington. We are located in Castle Rock but we hunt in Longview off the Columbia river for ducks. We don't want to drive far but we are willing to go a short distance. I know the best idea would be get out and just ask but we don't have time to really go out. So if you know where any is that's great and if you don't thanks anyways. :)

               Thanks, Neil

Public land that is productive for geese is hard to find! You can try the willipa refuge! Research it first there are a lot of restrictions.

If you don't have the time and are not willing to drive to far, you probably won't receive the help your looking for.   I drive a 100 plus miles a day scouting fields for geese and ducks.  It would be wise to put a few miles on the rig to secure a field you could hunt.  Then don't over hunt it, so the geese don't leave for good.  If you want to hunt them, put some time in or check out WDFW for available lands to hunt.
