Title: Moses Lake Potholes
Post by: jdw12885 on December 29, 2011, 11:01:01 AM
Anyone know if the potholes in Moses Lake/Othello are completely froze over or if there is open water still?

50 degree weather probably opened a few up.  Even sprague lake had some open spots in it.

I was in Othello on Monday and I could walk across some of the lakes so even with a few days of warm I would think most would still be frozen up pretty tight. There might be a few small pockets that had thin ice that could have opened up but I can't say for sure.

Be careful walking on the ice. There is at least one individual and his dog missing in the potholes area recently

I didn't actually walk across any of the lakes, I was just using it as a reference to how thick the ice is but that is a good point. I don't even send my dog out on the ice. The only places I walk on the ice are where I know how deep it is underneath!
