Title: Benelli nova chokes
Post by: tikkahunter on December 29, 2011, 11:19:40 AM
I just picked up a benelli nova and was wondering what choke people are using for decoying ducks?  It came with a ic, modified and full.  Cant shoot steel through the full.  It came with the ic installed from the factory.  I haven't had the chance to pattern yet.  Thanks

I shoot a nova and use either the factory IC or I also have a primos IC choke that I really like.

I've got the factory modified in there and seem to do fine. I'm under the assumption that it's modified for lead and full for steel.  :dunno: Either way, I shoot acceptably well with it so I'm sticking with it.

Then would you assume that IC for steel, would be similar to a Mod for lead?

I shoot the factory Modified choke out of my Nova

Improved (IC) I put a lot of steel through my Nova for ducks, and geese and the IC kills em clean @ decoy ranges. Same with pheasants and lead.

The modified choke works great for the nova.  Give it a go.

I have the Carlson's Waterfowl and use the "mid range" .705" choke the most. They all produce great patterns with a wide variety of ammo.
