Since mover to Idaho from Grays Harbor Co. recently, the dog (Endo) and I have been chasing Chukars. After coming home empty handed five or six times we finally bagged a few birds last weekend.
My ego is doing great... http://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php/topic,89493.0.html (http://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php/topic,89493.0.html)
Thought I'd (try to) share a couple pics.

Wow, awesome job on the birds. That country is unbelievable. Great pictures.

That looks like great Chukar country. Congrats on killing a few. What is that saying about chukar hunting??? .........your first chukar hunt is for fun, your second is for revenge…
I've gone several times, but I still need to go back and get revenge on them *censored*s. :chuckle:
I wish I lived closer to chukar country......... :(

Looks like the Owyhee in eastern Oregon. Man I wish I was there. Heading out Monday for one last chukar hurrah around E-burg. Beats sitting home!

Man that is a great looking chukar area.
I want to go so bad now. I tore my ACL last weekend wrestling a big steelie. He won. So now I am surfing the web after I cleaned my guns organized my hunting closet and fishing gear.
I went for the first time in 20 years this year and I got the bug bad now. I had an incredible hunt and got 3 huns and 2 chukars. I shot 36 times. It really took a while to get my aim back basically a box before I got the stank off. Guess I should have practiced but I just decided to pick up and go the night before. Now I am saving up for proper gear and cant wait to go next year. My Ithica 12 guage full choke made it more of a challenge than it needed to be.

These pics and birds were taken in the Brownlee area (Snake river breaks). I've been down in the Owyhees some as well, but haven't seen as many birds as along the river.
Me and the dog have a good bit of training to do during the off season, his "whoa" is not working well so he bumps lots of birds. Nothing some pigeons and a check cord won't fix hopefully.
The country is pretty cool, I've always been a wet-sider so the pics of this never appealed to me, but being here and having the chance to explore it a little has been quite an eye opener. Their is a lot of wildlife in all that "desolate" country.

I've chukar hunted that same "desolate" area, last time saw a bunch of deer and even a few elk. Cool country indeed, thanks for sharing the pics.

Beautiful country for sure! Did you see any big bucks?

I have friends that hunt that area, and they report seeing huge coveys. I'd like to give it a try some time.
