Has anyone actually shot a deer/elk with the Bloodline Bullets? I read about them and hear lots of talk, but no actual kills.
Yes I have, I have shot one with a 40-200 grain Lehigh/Bloodline DOA...

Just wondering what works best in that caliber. Being a .52 cal rules out a lot of the stuff that works in the .50, which is really no problem, once I find the right load. I also shoot a Knight DISC 52. You can shoot a .458 (45-70) rifle bullet from that gun in a Knight grey sabot and it will shoot lights out.
This is my go-to elk bullet... for the 52, I switch sabots and put it all on top of 120 grains of T7-2f

Also Lehigh is making a .458-220 grain which would make an excellent deer bullet, but the .458-275 remains my favorite.
The 52 will shoot most any bullet you put down the bore very well.

They make dedicated muzzleloader bullets in .458 and .475, which would work well in the Knight Sabots for .52 cal. Their claim is that they use soft copper jackets and pure lead. They are supposed to "flow", as opposed to breaking up, because of their softness and also retain much of their weight. I intend to try the Bloodlines and may very well use them for hunting, but I'd like to shoot a lot more than my wallet can afford. For around 31.00 plus 10.00 shipping, I can get 50 Hawk bullets. The sabots are extra, at 9.50 and shipping. Anyway, it's cheaper and supposed to really be a good bullet. I just never hear about them on the forum. If I do order the Hawk bullets, would you recommend .458 or .475?

I think I shot some a long time ago... but nothing that I can recall about them. I live in Moscow and 8 miles from here is a small town Troy. There is a small bullet company ran by a family out there that makes really impressive bullets for ML's also. Parker Bullet Company... have you ever looked at their stuff.

I can not afford to shoot a lot of the Lehigh either, so I end up buying Sierra .458-300 grain HP's for dinging around... the are cheap enough - think $21 per box of fifty.
I am really hung up on .458's vs the .475, but that is just me...
