I'm curious, do you guys typically leave your cameras up year round or perhaps try different areas with your cameras during the winter? Or do you take them down and wait until summer to put them back up? Mine are in my pack now but I'm thinking about put them back up in some of the areas I found this year. Just wondering what you guys do.

Can never have too many pictures, I leave them up most of the year. Actually if my camera is doing nothing, it's usually during hunting season with all the hunters (and unfortunately potential thieves) in the woods.
Now is a great time to have your cameras out there seeing what made it through the season.

I've got two out for deer, one for elk, and two for coyotes/bobcats. I have two Moultrie D40's sitting here at home but only because they go through batteries way too fast when it's cold. Although I just bought a 6 foot cord that plugs into the external battery port on my Moultrie, and I've got a marine deep cycle battery I'm going to hook it up to. So I can get one more camera out and it won't cost anything to keep it running all winter. If you hunt in an area where the deer and/or elk are migratory then the cameras may not do you any good in the winter. But either way it's still fun to see what's out there.

I take mine down during hunting season, just to keep honest people honest, but they are up the rest of the year. It's been slow the past 6 weeks

I try to do it year around. Little league baseball kinda gets in the way during the spring.

I bring my cams in during modern season but I leave my boxes and the cams go right back after season

Mine are out of the woods right after late archery... dont wanna worry about someone jacking a camera and my cams dont nee to be outside any longer than needed they only can take so much of the elements before they start messing up

pulled mine Sunday. I don't want to push the cheapies I have anymore than I have to

:yeah: no benefit for me to keep them out. Pics are cool, but thats it. Some use them for scouting areas for next year, but u have no idea if the buck or bull will even be around after winter, predators, poaching and cars. I cant justfy driving up with fuel cost to look at pics. Time to shed hunt and fish for winter steel

huntnnw I wish I had the time to get back up where my cams were. The one decent buck I had on cam dropped his left side Saturday night. He came in just about everyday for 2 weeks so I know his horns are close...too bad I don't have any free time in the near future.

I love the anticipation of looking through the pics to see what i get so all year for me. but instead of a 2 hour drive to retrieve it i bring it closer to home i have it up in enumclaw right now its been soaking for two months. this year was by far the best year ive had for pics. five bulls lots of cows mutiple deer and two pics of a dandy cougar

Depending on if we ever have winter my trail cams would normally be covered in snow by now... I dont leave them up in the winter becuase most of the critters move down the mountain anyways. I also know that there are turds who think it is fun to 4 wheel and snowmobile over my gate or through a hole in my perimeter and do dumb stuff on my place (few years ago they hit my well and messed it up took a few bucks to replace that. I dont want them to run over or steal my cams

Like I said I have five out now, and will put two more out this weekend. They are all within 10 miles of my house so time and fuel to get there really isn't an issue. I am wanting to learn which bucks made it through hunting season and I also want to try to keep track of them so I know where to look for their sheds. Two of the cameras I have set for predators and with those I'm hoping to pattern the bobcats and/or coyotes if possible so I know what time of day I should concentrate on hunting them.

Usually pull all mine during the off season, except for this year I will be putting them all back in one general area trying to get some wolf pics!
